MNU’s 2020 Education conference was previously scheduled to take place September 28-30 in Gimli. This event attracts up to 200 nurses from across the province each year.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the likely need for some social distancing to be in place for the rest of the year, this event has been cancelled.

MNU takes infection control very seriously, and given that nurses are among the those at highest risk of contracting the infection, MNU does not want to risk potentially spreading the illness to nurses, their families, their colleagues or their patients.

We know this will be disappointing for many members, and we regret that we are not able to go forward. However, we trust that members will understand why this action is necessary.

Though an in-person event is not possible, MNU is exploring options to provide more education to members online. Member education is an important service that we offer, and MNU is intent on continuing to provide that service in a new format that should be more broadly accessible. We will share more information on these plans as they develop.

Thank you for your understanding and your continued support.
