On May 1, a public health order restricting all nurses and many other health care staff to working in a single Personal Care Home (PCH) came into effect. This action was taken without meaningful consultation with the representatives of those who will be most impacted.

As a result of this order, members working in licensed PCHs have raised a number of legitimate questions about how the order is being implemented and what impact it will have on them.

Members are also encouraged to review Shared Health’s FAQs on this topic. To be clear, MNU is not endorsing the responses in this document. MNU maintains the right to grieve any mis-use of authority that violates member rights.

The following questions and answers are based upon current information and conditions as of May 1, 2020, and are subject to change. They will be updated as necessary moving forward.
