This evening, MNU president Sandi Mowat will be speaking to the Standing Committe on Legislative Affairs, on Bill 3 - The Mental Health Amendment Act.

This bill removes the requirement for a peace officer to stay with an involuntary patient until the examination or assessment has been completed.

Mowat will be providing a few cautionary notes to consider, as the bill moves forward, to ensure that the health and safety of Manitoba's patients, the general public and those that provide care is not jeopardized.

The presentation will take place this evening, Tuesday June 28, 2016 at approximately 6:00 p.m. in Room 255 of the Manitoba Legislative Building (450 Broadway).

If you are able to attend the presentation to the Standing Committee on Legislative Affairs, please come and show your support.
