MNU Professional Practice and Education Officer, Debbie Winterton and Researcher, Mikaela Brooks presented to more than 35 nurses from Cancer Care Manitoba about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
PTSD is becoming increasingly prevalent in the nursing profession. According to a recent MNU members' survey, one in four nurses consistently experience PTSD symptoms. MNU has been working with the provincial government on a number of legislative and regulative changes that will see improved support for nurses affected by PTSD.
