The Minister of National Revenue recently announced that she has waived Bill C-377's reporting requirements for unions and labour trusts.
Bill C-377, more commonly known as the "Anti-Union Bill" became law in June 2015. Reporting requirements would have applied to labour organizations beginning as early as December 31,2015.
Minister Lebouthillier's waiver ensures that unions and other stakeholders affected by the Bill will not be required to develop and submit detailed tracking of their activities to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
It is expected that early in the New Year, the Liberal Government will bring forward the necessary legislation to repeal Bill C-377. .
