Workplace issues/practices
MNU is currently lobbying the provincial government to include the recognition of psychosocial and psychological hazards in Manitoba’s Workplace Health and Safety Regulation.
We will also be recommending an employer obligation to implement a psychological hazard policy and process along with an obligation to provide access to psychological supports (i.e. debriefing, counselling supports) in a timely and efficient manner.
The proposal to include psychological health in Manitoba’s workplace health and safety legislation will formally acknowledge the unique health and safety hazards in health care work environments. It will also ensure nurses have access to preventative supports regardless of their work location.
